Zinc Borate is a multi-functional boron-based flame retardant. It is white crystalline powder, insoluble in water, slightly soluble in hot water and dilute acid, stable in weak alkali, and soluble in strong alkali. Oil absorption value: 35g/100g.
Release crystal water under high temperature, absorb heat and reduce surface temperature.
Water vapor dilutes oxygen and restrains combustion.
Form dense glassy B₂O₃ layer to isolate oxygen and heat.
Good synergistic effect with halogen, phosphorus and antimony series flame retardants, suppress free radical reaction, reduce smoke and prevent dripping.
Widely used in plastic, rubber, wire and cable, coating, ceramic, wood and composite materials.
